Writing 150

This semester I have learned a lot. I learned what college is like and what BYU is like. Everything this semester is new for me and it is probably the same for many. It is the first time I have been away from my parents and what it is like to live by yourself away from home.
In writing 150 this semester I have learned many new things. I have learned what a rhetorical analysis is. I learned new tools of writing and many big words like proteclepsis (I forget how to spell it) and what logical appeal and emotional appeal in writing was. I learned how to be yourself in your writing and add voice to your writing. Well writing the research paper I learned a lot about the BCS football system well researching that information about the BCS.I learned how to cite different research that I used with different authors. Also in this class I learned about the writing center and how you can take your paper to the writing center for help. I also learned that you should you use your peers for help and peer reviews are very helpful. That there are many things you can learn from others about your writing.
I still need to work on my writing. I feel that sometimes I get very repetitive in my writing. I need to work on rereading my work. Well taking the pretest and posttest I learned that there are a lot of things that I do not know about in my writing that I didn’t know that I need to learn and work on. I also need to work on putting my papers in the right format whether it’s MLA or a different format. This is what I learned this semester and what I still need to work on.

The State of the American Dream

On the Diane Rehm show I  decided to listen to a political one that was called the State of the American Dream. It was about how America has changed and the American Dream is not what it used to be. They were remembering the times when Americans who got a good education and worked hard could make it. Now a days they say even with those things you can't always make it. They say the government is not doing there part in America in order to keep the American dream. Now a days two people in a house hold have to work in order to make a good enough living to support your family and live with some luxuries. The radio talk show is bascially how the American Dream has changed and it not what it was 50 years ago and how the government is doing nothing to help the situation.
